- Still no answer over a year later. Billy has been removed until a source is proffered. - Dudesleeper · Talk 02:10, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- He is nicknamed Billy since his early years, but I don't know why. In any case, here is a reliable source factually stating he is nicknamed Billy: [1]. --Angelo 23:58, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
"Bad Luck"?
editIn 1994, Costacurta's bad luck had him miss both the World Cup final (lost by Italy) and the Champions League final (won by Milan) through suspensions.
This remark is laughable.
For the 1994 World Cup finals, yellow cards were cancelled after the group stage, specifically to give players a chance to avoid being suspended for matches in the knockout stage. Yet Costacurta still picked up two yellow cards to get himself suspended from the final.
In the 1994 Champions League final, both Costacurta and Baresi were suspended for accumulated yellow cards.
This is not bad luck.
Some people would denounce it as cynical professionalism. (Baresi was a genius at standing where the oncoming forward would 'run into him'). Some people would applaud it as a heroic individual sacrifice for the greater good of the team. Whatever.
But "Bad luck"?
Nonsense!

PS. btw, I totally admire both Costacurta and Baresi. Though, Heaven only knows why Franco took that penalty!
