Source Text: Mid-1900s - David Ogilvy (1911–1999) - advertising tycoon, founder of Ogilvy & Mather, known[by whom?] as the "father of advertising"

EDIT: attribution to the "[by whom?]" can be properly cited by:

Not done – please clarify. It looks like all you want to do is add a citation? If that is the case, I'd like to have a proper URL so that I can take a look at the source. The link you provided outputs an error. Please reply to this comment, and use the citation template and paste the URL to output a valid citation. Thanks! Cocobb8 (talk) 16:06, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

"Propaganda"?

edit

@Alexander Shipfield: I have reverted your edit. The term "propaganda" has a pejorative meaning not normally associated with advertising, given that it implies deception in the form of half-truths and/or untruths being promoted as fact. Advertising in general, as opposed to false advertising, does not possess those characteristics. Discuss your edit here and offer reliable sources that support your edit before you make it again, please. General Ization Talk 20:24, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Very obvious tense mismatch spotted, in casual reading: "In the UK, most forms of outdoor advertising such as the display of billboards is regulated by the UK Town and County Planning system." => "... most forms ... are regulated by ..." (Also would ideally put "such as ... billboards" in parens or make it a commaed subclause, for flow purposes.) - But leaving it up to anyone else who wants to pass by, who has the wherewithall to do it. 89.243.19.27 (talk) 20:24, 20 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
