Escambia County Area Transit

Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT) is the transit agency that serves the greater Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida area. It is owned by the Escambia County government which began managing the agency in 1971. ECAT served 1.23 million riders in October 2016 - September 2017.[1]

Below is a complete listing of the 20 bus routes provided by ECAT. There are a total of 285 miles of routes and more than 1,000 stops. All routes operate daily except Sundays unless otherwise noted. Effective August 2024.[2]

North/South Bi-Directional *Please Note: You must have a valid military id to enter NATTC. The Police will ask you to deboard the bus while its on base if you do not have military id. This bus is operational for the summer season only. While this bus is operation, fare is free.

ECAT's base fare is the following: Single Rides x $1.75// Day Pass x $5.25// 7 Day x $14.50// 20Ride x $29.00// 30 Day x $47.00 Please Note: Day Passes, 7 Days, 30 Day passes start from the first scan on the bus and expire on the time listed on the ticket. 20 Rides include transfers Commuter Route Fare is: $2.35 Transfers are available while paying fare during boarding. Transfers are valid for 2 hours after issuance.

ECAT does provide fares to seniors (aged 60 and over) and disabled passengers (verified with customer service) with proper ECAT ID. The fare is the same rate for both. Single Ride x $.85c// 10 Ride x $7.00// 30 Day x $35.00 10 Ride tickets include transfers. Commuter Route fare: $1.10 Transfers are available while paying fare during boarding. Transfers are valid for 2 hours after issuance.

ID Cards for Senior and Disabled IDs: $2.75+ Government issued photo id (current)+ proof of disability (verify requirements with customer service). ID's are also issued Monday-Friday 8:00 am- 4:00pm

Active Military personnel and Veterans are provided special fare for their services to the United States. If you are Active Military and in Uniform, You may board the bus at no charge. If you are active or retired with Military ID: $1.00 Commuter Route with Military ID: $2.00 To Veterans with Service Connected cards: Your ID is treated as a disabled fare. Please reference the disabled fare pricing.

Anyone currently enrolled in any school, college, university, trade school can bring their government issued id and current school schedule or parent and or legal guardian if under 18 and enroll in ECAT's STEP pass program where the ID holder can ride for free during the period marked on the card.


ECAT currently accepts: On Bus: USD- Any dollar bills and coins. A change card will be issued if you don't have exact change. This card cannot be redeemed for cash. Prepaid Cards: Available for purchase at Rosa Parks Transit Center |Visa/Mastercard: at the Rosa Parks Transit Center only |Rosa Parks Transit can also accept: Tap to pay (Visa or Mastercard) and USD.

Fleet

The ECAT fleet is composed of buses manufactured by Gillig, ElDorado, and Champion. There are 32 buses in the fleet as of January 2016.[3]
