Hawzah News Agency- In his weekly ethics lesson, Senior Iraqi cleric Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Taqi Modarresi has emphasized the key role of tolerance as a fundamental value in the lives of religious scholars and leaders, and stated,” Tolerance by officials plays a significant role in the integrity and unity of society, away from disputes and conflicts.”
He added that society naturally faces differences of opinion, and if these differences are not managed wisely, they will turn into conflicts that threaten the stability of society and lead to its weakening.
He also pointed to tolerance and the ability to manage crises as prominent characteristics of religious leaders, saying,” Our Imams (PBUT) and previous scholars have left behind many stories that show the effect of tolerance in resolving crises.”
In conclusion, Ayatollah Modarresi reiterated that without tolerance, living in peace in society is not possible, adding,” Tolerance does not mean weakness or complacency in the face of oppression, rather it is the ability to manage differences in a spirit of cooperation and understanding.”
