A Modified Key Management Scheme for Wireless Sensor Network

Published: 16 October 2012 Publication History

Abstract

Key management is one of the most challenging security problems in wireless sensor networks. Based on the random key pre-distribution scheme, we propose a new scheme for wireless sensor networks. This program uses only save the key identification number of the key pool, which can effectively save the storage space of the nodes and make the networks obtain a higher rate of secure connectivity. Furthermore, in view of the characteristics of resource limitation of sensor nodes, the working load of nodes was reduced by decreasing the session steps and simplifying calculation method. Analytical results show that proposed scheme makes the sensor node storage and communication overhead is very small, greatly improving the work efficiency of the sensor network.
