International federation for information processing (IFIP)
Abstract
The International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), founded in 1960 as a result of the herculean efforts of Isaac L. Auerbach, is a multinational federation of societies and groups of societies concerned with information processing. At the end of 1999 it had 45 national members, shown in Table 1, as well as 15 affiliate, associate, and corresponding members. IFIP was founded under the auspices of UNESCO and retains an official relationship with UNESCO.
