Abstract
The papers of this session span the field of computer system performance analysis. Kachhal and Arora develop an analytic approach to the much discussed, but relatively little explored field of configuration optimization. Peterson and Bulgren compare several frequently used computer system models. Reddy describes the design and analysis of a statistical experiment in computer system performance tuning. Schwetman describes the use of a unique data gathering facility to gather and analyze operating data on the Purdue System.
