Design Process of Sonically-enhanced Air Gesture Controls in Vehicles

Published: 24 September 2017 Publication History

Abstract

Touchscreen use in vehicles introduces conflict for the visual attention of drivers. This conflict increases crash risk and has been a subject of concern among driving researchers for many years. In this paper, we introduce the design process of sonically-enhanced air gesture controls to overcome drivers' visual distraction. Design applications and future research directions are discussed.
