Velo: Connecting Wix Logs to Google Cloud Logs

Wix Logs let you integrate with Google Cloud Logs, an external monitoring tool that analyzes your logs and helps you gain valuable insights from them.

Monitoring with Google Cloud Logs

The following are some of the features available for Wix sites with Google Cloud Logs:

  • Log analysis: Stream, search, and analyze log data in real time.
  • Log routing: Filter log data and store it in the cloud.
  • Error reporting: Track errors in real-time or sort and filter aggregated error data.

Connect to Google Cloud Logs

To connect your Wix Logs to Google Cloud Logs:

  1. Enable coding:

    • Wix Studio: If necessary, click and then Start Coding.
    • Wix Editor: Enable Velo Dev Mode.
  2. Add console methods to your frontend and/or backend code. Learn more.

  3. Select Developer Tools in the dashboard.

  4. Under the Logging Tools section, select Google Cloud Logs.

  5. Click Connect

  6. Select a Google account for signing in to Google Cloud Logs.

    Your site is now connected to Google Cloud Logs.

  7. Reload your site and generate a log.

  8. Back in the dashboard, click Open.

    Google Cloud Logs Explorer opens, displaying a list of generated logs and errors from your site.

  9. Click a log to view log data.

Disconnect Google Cloud Logs

Note Disconnecting Google Cloud Logs from your site does not affect the data currently stored in your Google Cloud Logs account. You can reconnect to Google Cloud Logs at any time.

To disconnect Wix Logs from Google Cloud Logs:

  1. In your site's dashboard, select Developer Tools.

  2. Select Logging Tools.

  3. In Google Cloud Logs, click Open.

  4. On the top right of the Google Cloud Logs panel, click Disconnect.

  5. In Remove Integration, click Remove.

    Wix Logs are no longer sent to your Google Cloud account.
