HerbergerOnline Technical Requirements
HerbergerOnline courses require access to a computer with the following minimum requirements:
Computer
PC: An 800 MHz or higher Intel Pentium processor (or equivalent). A minimum of 512MB of RAM using Windows XP system software or higher. A sound card and speakers or headphones.
MAC: Any Intel-based Macintosh computer, or a PowerPC-based Macintosh computer with an 800MHz or better processor. A minimum of 512MB of RAM using OS X 10.1 or later.
Internet Connection
Our courses require a broadband internet connection, e.g., DSL, cable. If your connection does not meet these requirements, there are numerous computers available on campus that you can use to attend our courses.
E-Mail account
You are required to use an email account that is registered to your name for all course correspondence. Do not use a parent or friend's email account.
A PDF Reader
Some of the readings for the courses are PDF files and require a PDF reader. Macintosh computers with OSX can automatically render PDF files. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free download for both PC and Mac and can be found here: http://www.adobe.com.
Media Players
Some courses have lectures and portions of assignments that require the playing of sound and/or video files. Most courses provide links to the required video players (Flash or Quicktime). You will need to have these audio/video players installed on your computer.
For exams containing audio clips we use the .swf format. Which requires the Flash Player plugin. Be sure you have the latest Flash Player installed, if you need to check if your player is compatible, please use the link below.
