European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine
The CoR, together with partner associations of local and regional authorities from the EU and Ukraine, launched this Alliance in June 2022 to support the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine.
The CoR organises events, workshops and conferences, on behalf of the Alliance. A flagship event of the Alliance has been the Workshop on 'Strengthening the Role of Local and Regional Governments in Ukraine's Recovery and Reconstruction Process, and on the road to EU Membership', jointly organised with key stakeholders on 25 May 2023. The workshop produced a set of important recommendations to the London Ukraine Recovery Conference (21-22 June 2023).

CoR Working Group on Ukraine
The Working Group strengthens the relations between the EU and Ukraine by bringing together CoR members, EU institutions, and representatives from Ukrainian cities, regions and local authorities. Alongside the CoR's support actions and in light of the important decisions taken by the EU in relation to the European future of Ukraine, the Working Group is the political body that monitors the developments in Ukraine with particular attention to decentralisation reform, capacity building for local and regional authorities, and the alignment with the EU acquis on Regional Policy.

The CoR developed a set of tailor-made measures for Ukrainian local and regional authorities, including training opportunities and hosting of representation offices in Brussels.

Summer Camps for Ukrainian children
As a result of the joint efforts of the European Committee of the Regions, its Members and Association of Ukrainian cities, children from Ukraine have the opportunity to have relaxed holidays in cities and regions across Europe.

Humanitarian aid to Ukraine
From the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion and war of aggression against Ukraine, European Union's regions, cities and villages welcomed millions of Ukrainian refugees. The CoR called on the EU institutions to support the accommodation and to facilitate the integration of Ukrainians in their host communities. Furthermore, it helped to identify needs and channel donations to Ukrainian cities, regions and local communities.
