Partnership history
[edit]In December 2012 Józef Piłsudski Institute of America announced[1] search for Wikipedian in Residence. Several potential task ideas were proposed, including working on articles related to Polish diaspora in the US, based on the materials found in the Piłsudski Institute archives and adding materials scanned by the Institute to Wikipedia resources. The Wikipedian-in-Residence position was not immediately filled, but the project started discussions between User:MarekZielinski from the Piłsudski Institute and User:Jarekt about batch upload of Public Domain documents digitized by the Institute to Wikimedia Commons. The Partnerships was approved by the Piłsudski Institute Board on July 14, 2013, and the batch upload is planned for end of 2013 and early 2014. Later, en:User:Piotr Puchalski filled the position for some time.
