Something wrong?
[edit]There's something wrong here, surely? The "Expulsion of Adam & Eve" and "Annunciation" are not sub-categories of "Cherubs". Of "Angels", maybe? SiGarb (talk) 15:55, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
- Maybe in some traditions the angel of the expulsion is identified as a cherub? I'm pretty sure, however, that the annunciation angel is usually identified as Gabriel, who is an archangel and not a cherub. In any case, I agree that this categorization (either cherub or angel) is too specific, because there is not always an angel in the depictions of the expulsion. I guess the angel-related categorization should be a case-by-case issue. --Eusebius (talk) 21:05, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
- Gabriel is one with sword, and in iconography is the second one, who helped him, multiwinged, like this.Shakko (talk) 09:21, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
- But again, in some representations there are no angel at all, so categorizing the Explusion with "Gabriel", "Archangels" or anything like that wouldn't be appropriate. Also, the sword is usually an attribute of Michael, not Gabriel (among the archangels). --Eusebius (talk) 12:22, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
- I agree with Eusebius, only those depictions that actually show the angel, or the cherub, should be categorized under those headings. SiGarb (talk) 20:35, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
