Rock Garden, Chandigarh is a sculpture garden in Chandigarh, India, also known as Nek Chand's Rock Garden, after its founder. Nek Chand, a government official, started the garden secretly in his spare time in 1957, in contrast to the completely western-oriented new capital city designed by Le Corbusier. Today it is spread over an area of forty-acre (160,000 m²), completely built of industrial and home waste and thrown-away items, and is a popular touristical attraction. 30°45′7.2″N 76°48′25.2″E / 30.752°N 76.807°E / 30.752; 76.807
