A valuable reminder from this #MohawkMedbuy Member hospital about the importance of recognizing the early signs of a stroke on World Stroke Day. #GreaterThan
Today is World Stroke Day—a vital reminder of the importance of stroke awareness. Did you know that a stroke can strike unexpectedly, impacting brain function by cutting off blood and oxygen flow? At Grand River Hospital, we’re proud to partner in the Waterloo Wellington Integrated Stroke Program, offering emergency care, acute post-stroke support, and rehabilitation to help restore lives. If you or a loved one are experiencing symptoms of a stroke, BE FAST. ⏰ Time is brain—1.9 million brain cells die per minute during a stroke. Know the signs and call 9-1-1 immediately: Balance – dizziness or headache Eyes – blurred vision Face – drooping on one side Arms – weakness in arm or leg Speech – slurred or difficult speech Time – act fast, call 9-1-1 Learn more about Leaha’s inspiring story—her quick recognition of the symptoms and prompt action helped her receive the care she needed 🔗https://lnkd.in/gXy6Ecy9 #StrokeAwareness #WorldStrokeDay #Stroke #BeFast Grand River Hospital Foundation
