    🤖AI in mobile gaming spotlight: Fraud and cheating detection Cheating and fraud prevention has historically come with a hefty price tag, but one way AI is innovating the industry is by bringing this cost (and fraudulent behavior) down. By analyzing player data, ranging from IP addresses to login times, machine learning algorithms can help detect and prevent such activity. In fact, one implementation can detect cheaters 99% of the time with no access to in-game data, solely by tracking player behavior. “While the adoption of machine learning and artificial intelligence is on the rise, only a handful of entities effectively leverage these methods. Proper utilization of such technology requires the availability of suitable resources, the application of intricate techniques, and a sophisticated technical infrastructure.     ⚡Innovation spotlight: NEOWIZ's Cats & Soup 🥣🐈 Games are a strikingly visual medium, and as such, one way to capture attention in the market is to break expectations by embracing fresh art styles and unique visual aesthetics. By deviating from conventional designs, mobile games have the opportunity to elevate their appeal and create memorable experiences for players. Take Cats & Soup, a (mechanically) simple game launched in 2021 where you adopt cats that make soup for you to sell. Cats & Soup is an idle game at its heart, designed to get you to the next ad watch or buy one of its subscription options. But the Ghibli-esque, chibi art style has players flocking to build their soup-making kitty kingdoms, and as such has garnered over 10M+ downloads on the Google Play Store and brings in over 600k USD per month in store revenue (according to data.ai as of May 2024). 💡 Takeaway: It's no secret that many mobile games can feel formulaic in both their mechanics and design.     💡 Korean mobile game IAP spenders are more likely to spend within the first day of playing compared to their North American counterparts (12% vs 5%). As such, publishers should ensure that enticing IAP offers are communicated directly to this user base during their first-time user experience (FTUE). With a significant portion of Korean spenders (31%) expressing interest in discounted items, it’s perhaps worth displaying discounted starter packs within the first day to further optimize this approach.
