Yoshida Kenji was born January 1, 1935 in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. He is an anime producer. His career began as mangaka and illustrator, before he turned to animation. He is one of the founders and the second representative director of famed animation studio Tatsunoko Production.
Born in 1935, Yoshida Kenji eventually succeeded Tatsuo as President of Tatsunoko Pro. His career began when his eldest brother Tatsuo requested his help in Tokyo. When he arrived with younger brother Toyoharu, he took the role of manager for Tatsuo's various comic projects. Kenji remained on the staff of Tatsunoko when they made the switch from comic production into television production.
Following Tatsuo's untimely death in 1977, Kenji took over control of the studio. It was under his term as President that Gatchaman II and the Gatchaman feature film were done. Though these were successful, Kenji eventually handed the reigns over to his younger brother, Toyoharu for a while.
