A visual novel is an interactive fiction game featuring mostly static graphics, usually with anime-style art. As the name might suggest, they resemble mixed-media novels or tableau vivant stage plays.
It's been a while since I read the visual novel but I'll post it here because why the fuck not:
If you don't cry from merely listening to it, you either know not where it's from (read: you should)
I hate you whiic, I shouldn't have clicked play... tears instantly.
I finally finished MLA this week, I know, I know over a decade late to the party... but what an emotional roller coaster ride, I'm so glad I managed to avoid any spoilers all these years!
The ending and direction of Alternative was certainly more impactful for me given Sumika was my first choice in Extra. But bloody hell from Chapter 7 onwards (Marimo CHOMP) it was a truly amazing read, I couldn't put it down.
I've got a few other VNs on my backlist, like Chaos Head is ready to go but I'm thinking of jumping into the world of Grisaia given all the praise Hinoe gives it.
I certainly need something to fill this void in my chest, I actually couldn't sleep the night I finished reading MLA...
>tfw there's never a complete version anymore because new versions add some stuff while removing some other stuff just to force you to buy further copies of what ultimately boils down to the same damn thing.
Nah the Box has nothing to with the Kickstarter and I guess the name is a bit misleading. The Box contains the six games that Masada wrote and not just Dies irae. The version of Dies irae included here isn't even the version that got translated, but Acta est Fabula.
Instead of readingWorld End Economica I started reading fault milestone 2 (picked up the SP humble bundle a while back) and wow that introduction!
Truly amazing, not seen anyone do something like before, and the way they shift the camera from sprite to sprite in action scenes gives everything more life / impact.
Doing my part in saving this medium.. or maybe just slowing the downfall. Also got an copy of Innocent Bullet lately, but it's a used copy and the company doesn't even exist anymore.
The rest of the year is looking pretty crazy, too. Just this month i already have 3 pre-orders.
I'm pretty much approaching the End of UBW in Fate/Stay Night at the moment. While reading the english TL ages ago felt like such a slog the original text is quite good.
On the side I'm 'reading' Kenzen! Hentai Seikatsu no Susume. The Story is dumb in a funny way, but I'm not expecting much from a Nukige and the Production Value is pretty high so yeah.
Currently on hold is Kimi to Yumemishi where I did like half the Routes and probably do the rest after UBW, since I'm pretty sure HF is way longer than finishing the rest in this and it's time to actually finish something imo.
Currently reading Subarashiki Hibi ~Furenzoku Sonzai~. I just found out such a VN exists, got surprised about how highly it's ranked on VNDB, and already installed it. It might look innocent on the cover but just check the tags. Also, while character designs are cute, colors are a bit washed out (which is good, I hate over-saturated palettes), and the mood right from the starts gives me Cross†Channel style creeps. Not that Cross†Channel creeped me initially but after finishing it... I take anything that reminds me of it as a red flag. Can't wait for the upcoming trainwreck.
Cross†Channel I would recommend to people with lots of spare time. It's an interesting experience, but it starts very, very slowly, cycling round and round for an eternity before it goes to some rather dark places.
Also, waiting for Grisaia no Rakuen's R18 version to be released. Grikaji and Grimei already finished. Good stuff. Nothing as epic as MuvLuv Ultimate. (Though Grikaji is better than MuvLuv Extra and MuvLuv Unlimited.)
Just get the fan translation for Grikaji and the Denpasoft release for Grimei and Griraku. Mucking with the Steam releases to add back the cut stuff is just not worth the effort.
I think Phantom Trigger got an English release already straight from Frontwing, so I may look after going through Griraku.
I'm not putting much stock into Phantom Trigger as it seems like milking, but I have higher hopes for it than for anime adaptations of anything Grisaia. The Grikaji anime in particular was downright awful.
Oh that's quite high up in VNDB, looks interesting on first glance, but my to read pile is faaaaaar too long. What's Griraku Hinoe, is it short for the latest Grisaia? I've not read those either.
EDIT: Nevermind after another google I obtained a link to another one of you posts regarding the Phantom Trigger anime series.
After Steins Gate Zero I had planned to read World End Economica, depending on cash / price of MuvLuv Alternative on launch, but Grisaia has always intrigued me and I see there's also an 18+ patch for steam release now.
On another note Beasts Lair are saying their almost done with FHA voices patch, and expect to release this month.
If it doesn't break saves I may revisit the ending and hear what Bazett has to say.

^ Parts will be retranslated and rewritten. They are only used as a basis, and are not going to be a 1:1 replicas. KEY themselves will look over the process.
Tomoyo After and Little Busters will join Clannad on Steam. However, unlike Clannad which has a brand new translation, Tomoyo After and Little Busters will be based on the current fantranslations.

With Korie Riko doing the artwork makes it at least worth a look.
Plus new Liar-Soft title by Mareni in September: http://www.tgsmart.jp/article.aspx?a=14266
Looks like there will come out some pretty good titles till the end of the year.

Rewrite TV anime get. I'm happy.
EDIT: And it looks like we already have the entry up. Good stuff.
