Mihashi Ren is the quirky ace pitcher of Nishiura high school's newly formed baseball team. He, however, has hit rock-bottom in terms of confidence and self-belief, thanks to a traumatic three years in his middle school - Mihoshi academy - and switched to Nishiura just to get away from it all. The team's catcher, Abe Takaya, thinks otherwise and believes that Mihashi has the control and skill required, and with his lead, could take them all the way to Koshien.
Guided by an enterprising coach and an innovative mentor, the team slowly gel as a unit and train hard to make a mark in the upcoming summer tournament.

Very underrated baseball anime, if you like the genre of sports anime, give this one a go. The protagonist is a bit annoying but he does not take away of the overall enjoyment.

It might be the most atypical baseball anime I've seen in that it's actually about baseball. It's a more realistic look at the game, especially the teamwork that goes into it (as opposed to the one-man-wonders in most sports anime whose balls BURST INTO FLAME FROM THEIR SHEER FORCE OF AWESOMENESS - pun intended).
The characters are incredible fun to watch, the games are great, the atmosphere is overwhelmingly positive. Honestly I can't think of a negative thing to say, I even liked the protagonist who annoyed most people.
If you like baseball, watch it. If you don't, but are curious, give it a try. I did not come to it as a baseball fan myself, but left as a tiny bit of one.

I saw this one a long time ago but I remember the main character very strongly. On paper if anyone described him I would not have liked him but in the series he was awesome and that's why you should try this gem.

This is probably the best sports anime there has been.... well certainly that I have see. Let's get things strait... I don't get baseball, I think... I won't say what I think if it... we'll leave it with pretty much I hate the game but this anime is so amazing that I couldn't watch it fast enough. The characters are awesome, I love them so much... I'm gad they made a second season +}

Definitely one of the better sports animes I've ever watched. Had me laughing through most of it due to their personalities.

One outstanding point about this show is, aside from the HARD GAY factor, the accurate motion sequences of baseball plays. It's a rare and interesting view of the actual game of baseball which other shows choose conviently to ignore. Character drama is another strong point of this show. Not an Adachi but still a damn great sports show.
