We are excited to share Mindshare MENA’s participation at Qatar Airways’s global conference in Doha this week. As their media partners, Abdallah Zeid Safieddine, our Managing Director and Racha Semaan, Global Business Lead, had the privilege of presenting key macro media trends shaping our industry. We kicked off with an overview of the advertising spend across major global markets, a topic we knew would spark interest among the global teams in attendance, given their crucial role in shaping these markets. Next, we explored the evolving landscape of media trends, emphasizing the critical need for brands to connect with their audiences through culturally- relevant, interest-based influencer content. We highlighted the transformative shift in influencer marketing towards an outcome-based, result-oriented model integrated within the entire performance funnel. Our discussion also delved into the dynamic world of gaming and esports, dispelling myths about the gaming audience demographics (high female ratio, engagement across all age groups). We showcased how premium and luxury brands strategically invest in this space, tapping into its broad appeal across age groups and genders. Lastly, we examined the impact of Generative AI on the media landscape, illustrating how it enhances the digital experience by moving from informative to intelligent interactions. We demonstrated its potential for brands and advertisers through personalized content, improved audience segmentation, and enhanced measurement and analytics. Alinma Bank sought to expand its customer base among younger demographics in Saudi Arabia’s competitive fintech market. To tackle this, Mindshare KSA collaborated with Alinma Bank’s Digital Marketing team to create a full-funnel strategy utilizing direct buys, social media, programmatic advertising, and search to promote the new iz Banking App. The campaign aimed to drive app installs, increase account registrations, and elevate brand visibility. By leveraging detailed audience data through MMPs, the team optimized targeting and user experience, guiding users through a seamless app installation and registration journey. Mindshare KSA 's Darine Elkaissi calls for leaders in the advertising industry to promote a culture of empathy. Responding to a question on the barriers to break down, Elkaissi said, "The judgmental culture that perpetuates the idea that individuals who choose to prioritise their careers or personal lives are somehow less worthy. We're favouring fun over formality with our latest campaign for du📱😁 Earlier this month, our 'Business Starter' campaign for du featuring mysterious blue men created intrigue, speculation and curiosity amongst consumers across Dubai. Departing from traditional B2B advertising norms, the week-long teasers across OOH, website takeovers, press, PR blitzes and social media, had no mention of the brand, product, pricing, promotion or offer. But it didn't stop there. The campaign, opting for creativity over convention, also created gamified elements and CGI to accompany the omnichannel teasers. The campaign highlights du's commitment to supporting small and medium enterprises in the UAE, with the message that 'the extra help your business needs is coming soon' 🤝 Another example of how in the age of transformation, bold strategies can generate good growth.
