A. All programs/majors, except the Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry, must complete a video prescreen and audition in order to be considered for admission to the FROST School of Music. The only degree at the Frost School of Music that does not require an applicant to be a musician and prescreen/audition is the Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry.
A. Apply to the University of Miami online via the Common Application and submit the Frost School supplemental application. From the list of available dates, indicate your audition date choice on the Frost School of Music supplemental application. Once your application and fees are received, and you pass a prescreening we will confirm your audition date.

A. All Early Action (EA) applicants who are approved to audition after a review of their video prescreens MUST audition on campus during the EA audition date which will be in December. For Regular Decision (RD) applicants an in-person audition is preferred and is required for some instruments/genres. Most classical applicants can audition via a video recording submitted online as part of the Frost supplemental application. In some cases, a virtual audition may be approved.

If you’ve submitted your Frost School of Music supplemental application with your audition date choice and then realize you need to change your date, please contact the Office of Admission at the Frost School of Music at (305-284-6168). There will be a $25 charge to change a confirmed audition date.
A. The Frost School of Music offers merit scholarships based on both your talent and/or academic qualifications. All you have to do is apply and audition by the deadlines, and you are automatically considered. There is not a separate scholarship application. Applicants that wish to be considered for the University of Miami premier scholarships should apply Early Action.
