Sir Kenneth Pugh Thompson, 1st Bt. was born on 24 December 1909.1 He was the son of Ernest Simpson Thompson and Annie Pugh.2 He married Nanne Broome, daughter of Charles Broome, on 15 April 1936.1 He died in 1984.1
He was educated at Arnot Street Council School, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1 He was educated at Bootle Secondary School, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1 He was member of the Liverpool City Council between 1938 and 1958.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Walton between 1950 and 1964.1 He held the office of Assistant Postmaster-General between 1957 and 1959.1 He was Parliamentary Secretary, Minister of Education between 1959 and 1962.1 He was created 1st Baronet Thompson, of Walton-on-the-Hill, City of Liverpool [U.K.] on 29 January 1963.1 He wrote the book Pattern of Conquest.1 He wrote the book Member's Lobby.1
