Maj.-Gen. Henry Mackinnon was the son of William Mackinnon of Strathaird, 32nd Chief of MacKinnon and Louisa Vernon.2 He married Catherine Call, daughter of Sir John Call, 1st Bt. and Philadelphia Battie.1 He died on 19 February 1812 at Ciudad Rodrigo, Spain, killed in action.1
He fought in the Peninsular Wars.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Coldstream Guards.1

Catherine Call is the daughter of Sir John Call, 1st Bt. and Philadelphia Battie.1 She married, firstly, Maj.-Gen. Henry Mackinnon, son of William Mackinnon of Strathaird, 32nd Chief of MacKinnon and Louisa Vernon.1 She married, secondly, Andrew Redmond Prior, son of Andrew Murray Prior and Frances Morres, on 17 March 1814.1
