Noel Anthony Scawen Lytton-Milbanke, 4th Earl of Lytton was born on 7 April 1900.1 He was the son of Neville Stephen Lytton, 3rd Earl of Lytton and Judith Anne Dorothea Blunt, Baroness Wentworth.1 He married Clarissa Mary Palmer, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Cyril Eustace Palmer and Nina Kathleen Scarlett, on 30 November 1946.1 He died on 18 January 1985 at age 84 at Crawley, Sussex, England.1,2
He was given the name of Noel Anthony Scawen Lytton at birth.1 He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 On 23 February 1925 his name was legally changed to Noel Anthony Scawen Lytton-Milbanke by Deed Poll.1 He was instructor in economics between 1931 and 1935 at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Staff Captain and DAQMG between 1936 and 1939 in the War Office.1 He succeeded as the 17th Lord Wentworth [E., 1529] in 1937.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He wrote the book The Desert and The Green.1 He wrote the book Mikla Beudore.1 He wrote the book Wilfrid Scawen Blunt, a Memoir.1 He wrote the book The Stolen Desert.1 He wrote the book Lucia in Taormina.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1945.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Rifle Brigade.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Lytton of Knebworth, co.
