Piers Bermingham, 1st Lord Athenry was the son of Meiler Bermingham and Basile of Worcester.1 He married, secondly, Maud of Rokeby, daughter of Richard of Rokeby.1 He died on 2 April 1307.1 He was buried at Athenry Priory, Athenry, County Galway, IrelandG.1
He was also known as Piers MacPhioris.1 He was created 1st Lord Athenry [Ireland] circa 1280.1 He distinguished himself against the natives.1 He was summoned to the Scottish expedition.2

Maud of Rokeby is the daughter of Richard of Rokeby.1 She married Piers Bermingham, 1st Lord Athenry, son of Meiler Bermingham and Basile of Worcester.1
She received the lands of Kencloy in Roscommon from her father.1 After her marriage, Maud of Rokeby was styled as Baroness Athenry. Her married name became Bermingham.1
