Alfred Greer was born on 2 September 1805.2 He was the son of Thomas Greer and Elizabeth Jackson.2 He married, firstly, Helena Carroll, daughter of Joshua Carroll, on 19 May 1836.2 He married, secondly, Peggy Colthurst, daughter of Major John Bowen Colthurst and Peggy Billinghurst, on 19 November 1853.2 He died on 29 December 1891 at age 86.2

Georgina de Bellasis Greer was born on 2 March 1855.2 She was the daughter of Alfred Greer and Peggy Colthurst.2 She married Robert Walter Travers Bowen-Colthurst, son of John Bowen and Mary Honner, on 15 August 1878.1 She died on 21 November 1921 at age 66.1
From 15 August 1878, her married name became Bowen. On 9 December 1882 her name was legally changed to Bowen-Colthurst by Royal Licence.2
