     Lt.-Col. Sir Raleigh Grey was born on 24 March 1860 at Walcot, Somerset, England.1,2 He was the son of Alfred Grey and Christina Henrietta Victoria Jones.3 He married Mary Isabel Cadogan, daughter of Cadogan Hodgson Cadogan and Isabella Mary Smith, on 10 July 1901 at The Cathedral, Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.1 He died on 10 January 1936 at age 75 at London, England.1,2
     He gained the rank of Captain and Brevet Major in the 6th Dragoons.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1896.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the South Rhodesian Volunteers.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Rhodesia]1 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1910.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1919.1

     Mary Isabel Cadogan was born circa 1850.2 She was the daughter of Cadogan Hodgson Cadogan and Isabella Mary Smith.3,2 She married, firstly, Alexander Henry Browne, son of Alexander Browne and Helena Gwynifred Forman, on 27 April 1870 at Brinkburn Priory Church, Northumberland, England.1,2 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Sir Raleigh Grey, son of Alfred Grey and Christina Henrietta Victoria Jones, on 10 July 1901 at The Cathedral, Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.1 She died on 10 October 1936.1
     From 27 April 1870, her married name became Browne.1 From 10 July 1901, her married name became Grey.

     Lady Elizabeth Grey was born on 7 April 1765.2 She was the daughter of General Charles Grey, 1st Earl Grey and Elizabeth Grey.3 She married Samuel Whitbread, son of Samuel Whitbread and Harriot Hayton, in 1789.1 She died on 28 November 1846 at age 81.1
     From 1789, her married name became Whitbread.

     Lady Hannah Althea Grey was the daughter of General Charles Grey, 1st Earl Grey and Elizabeth Grey.2 She married, firstly, Captain George Edmund Byron Bettesworth on 24 August 1807.1 She married, secondly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ellice, son of Alexander Ellice and Ann Russell, on 30 October 1809.1 She died on 28 July 1832.1
     From 24 August 1807, her married name became Bettesworth. From 30 October 1809, her married name became Ellice.1

     Captain George Edmund Byron Bettesworth was born in 1780.2 He married Lady Hannah Althea Grey, daughter of General Charles Grey, 1st Earl Grey and Elizabeth Grey, on 24 August 1807.1 He died on 25 May 1808, killed in action off Bergen, while in command of H.M.S. Tartar.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Napoleonic Wars.1
