     Sybil de Gournay Buxton was born in 1863.2 She was the daughter of Charles Buxton and Emily Mary Holland.3 She married Sir George Stapylton Barnes, son of George Carnac Barnes and Margaret Diana Chetwynd-Stapylton, on 16 August 1887.1 She died on 19 June 1955.1
     From 16 August 1887, her married name became Barnes.

     George Carnac Barnes was born on 4 June 1818.2 He married Margaret Diana Chetwynd-Stapylton, daughter of Major Henry Richard Chetwynd-Stapylton and Margaret Hammond, on 25 September 1856.3 He died on 13 May 1861 at age 42.3
     He held the office of Commissioner of Cis-Sutlej States, East Indies.3 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1
