Sir Michael Henry Basil Peto, 4th Bt. was born on 6 April 1938.2 He was the son of Brigadier Sir Christopher Henry Maxwell Peto, 3rd Bt. and Barbara Close.2 He married, firstly, Sarah Susan Stucley, daughter of Major Sir Dennis Frederic Bankes Stucley, 5th Bt. and Hon. Sheila Margaret Warwick Bampfylde, on 24 October 1963.2 He and Sarah Susan Stucley were divorced in 1971.2 He married, secondly, Lucinda Mary Blackett, daughter of Major Sir Charles Douglas Blackett, 9th Bt. and Ursula Mary Cely Trevilian, in 1971.2 He and Lucinda Mary Blackett were divorced in 1999.2 He died on 3 August 2008 at age 70.3
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1960 entitled to practise as a barrister.2 He was a member of the Stock Exchange between 1963 and 1998.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1965 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Peto, of Barnstaple, co.
