Light Use Efficiency of Aboveground Biomass Production of Norway Spruce Stands

Light use efficiency (LUE or photosynthetically active radiation use efficiency) in production of young spruce stands aboveground biomass was determined at the study sites R�jec (the Drahansk� vrchovina Highland) and B�l� K��� (the Moravian-Silesian Beskids Mountains) in 2014 and 2015. The LUE value obtained for the investigated spruce stands were in the range of 0.45-0.65 g DW MJ-1. The different LUE values were determined for highland and mountain spruce stand. The differences were caused by growth and climatic conditions and by the amount of assimilatory apparatus (LAI).

The paper assessed the topicality and returns of solar system utilization to heating of water. Practical measurements were conducted after reconstruction of the family house. The impact of colored wheat bran addition on bread quality was tested on wheat varieties with purple pericarp (Konini, Rosso and Karkulka) and on a variety containing blue aleurone (Skorpion). The effect of 10 %, 15 % and 20 % bran addition on sensory evaluation, bread color and texture was compared to the characteristics of bread prepared from wheat variety Mulan. The addition of 10 % bran significantly increased the sensory evaluation scores of bread. Crumb characteristics were improved mainly by the addition of 10 % bran. Moreover, top-quality bread contained bran separated from wheat variety Konini.

Monitoring of Puccinia graminis subsp. graminicola and Puccinia coronata f. sp. lolii was carried out in Plant breeding station called V�trov. The pathogens were estimated on turf grass (Lolium perenne L., Deschampsia caespitosa (L.) P. B.) from 2009 to 2014. This article aims to experimentally determine how the tractor's weight distribution changes during loading by drawbar pull, and how the tractor's weight affects its drawbar pull properties. Drive wheel ballasting has a significant effect on the drawbar pull and wheel slip of the tractor - travelling gear losses. The Catalogue of Ichneumon Wasps of Slovakia (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) Part I: a Checklist of the Subfamily Cryptinae with 32 New Records

The subfamily Cryptinae Kirby, 1837 is considered the largest group in the Ichneumonidae with more than 400 described genera including around 4500 species. The subfamily has a worldwide distribution and its members play a key role in the biological control as parasitoids of many important pests. The study provides a new and updated overview of the Slovakian ichneumonid fauna after 28 years. So far over 750 species of Ichneumonidae have been reported from Slovakia, including around 150 species in the subfamily Cryptinae. Our study presents a complete checklist of Cryptinae and adds 32 species to the Slovakian fauna.

Species Diversity and Habitat Preferences of Aculeata (Insecta: Hymenoptera) of Urban and Suburban Gardens in Brno-City (Czech Republic)

I conducted a survey of aculeate Hymenoptera in urban and suburban gardens of Brno-city in August 2015. For my survey, I selected three individual gardens, and in each of them chose three type of microhabitats: tree, grass and patch. I used yellow pan traps for taxon sampling. Using this method, I recorded 382 specimens belonging to 76 species. Subsequently, the basic indices of species diversity in individual gardens were calculated, and statistical analyses of individual gardens and various microhabitats were created. During 2013-2015, oilseed rape samples from various locations in the Czech Republic were analysed for the presence of Verticillium wilt. Samples were evaluated in the lab using ELISA and PCR as well as by visual evaluation during the samples collection. A comparison of detection match in individual methods also was made.
