Football has a unique way of uniting people, sparking passion and bringing communities together like no other sport. This past week, I had the privilege of leading MTN’s brand activations in Ndola and Kitwe, building up to the AFCON qualifier where Zambia took on Chad. It was an exciting opportunity to connect with our customers, driving engagement and anticipation ahead of the match. We also used the activations to showcase MTN’s latest innovation, the Ka Konek’ Dongle—the perfect solution for staying connected on the go. The energy was electric, and several lucky fans walked away with match-day tickets! Although the result wasn’t what we hoped for, we remain proud to be Chipolopolo’s biggest supporters! #Sponsorships #Events #Football #Chipolopolo #Community #MTN Zambia #KaKonek

Passionate Marketer | Crafting Loveable Brand Icons that Win Hearts | Award-Winning Marketing Professional | 2022 ZIM Emerging Marketer of the Year | 2023 Zambian Marketing Man of the Year
Last week, I had the incredible honor of attending an inspiring Marketing Workshop hosted by MTN Group Marketing in Johannesburg. Joined by our incoming agency partner M&C Saatchi Abel and representatives from affiliates across our opcos, the energy in the room and online was absolutely electrifying. We dove into everything from creative strategy and brand health to consumer strategy, AI, and deep insights into opportunities and ambitions of our key business segments, all vital as we collectively strive to build greater operational excellence. Each session was really an inspiring step forward as we prepare to take on 2025! For me, this experience was about more than just learning, it was a true reminder of the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone. Being entrusted as Master of Ceremony for two full days of such an important workshop was both a privilege and a challenge, pushing me beyond my comfort zone. That first step onto the stage was intimidating, but it reminded me that real growth happens just beyond fear. This lesson extends beyond the stage. Life gives us moments that seem daunting, yet it’s precisely in those moments that we uncover our true potential. If you feel the call of that next big step, embrace it! And if you see someone else standing at the edge of their comfort zone, encourage them to take that leap. A little support can go a long way in helping others find their courage and explore their true potential. A huge shoutout to the incredible organizing team for putting together such a brilliant workshop and to my fellow brand champions and my CCO Richard Acheampong who cheered me on both in the room and online. Your trust and positivity empowered me to take this leap. In the words of our fearless leader, Bernice Samuels here’s to “thinking bigger, acting bolder and pushing boundaries”. #EmpowetheShift

Sometime in September, I had the honour of representing our team - myself and two other colleagues -at the Banking Industry Symposium hosted by Stanbic Bank in collaboration with the Bankers Association of Zambia. This was on MD's request, an opportunity I am deeply grateful for. It was an insightful gathering of banking industry giants, it didn't feel like I belonged in the room but I was thrilled to be there and to learn. One thing particularly stood out to me at that Symposium as Mobile Money service providers were repeatedly mentioned in the discussions. There needed to be more similar gatherings and discussions tailored to Mobile Money service providers. These conversations needed to happen between financial industry players and regulators, dialogue that would lead to an appreciation of Mobile money operations and drive more suited regulation. After the event, I went back to office and mentioned this one key take away to my boss. She fully agreed with me but it seemed far fetched at that time, just a dream really. We had started planning the Customer Experience Cross Industry Panel Discussion, 2 months prior but didn't quite imagine just what could be achieved. Let me pause for a moment to say thank you to Chanda from Stanbic who graciously shared with me how she had put the event together. The insights were invaluable. Fast forward to Monday 21st October 2024 when we successfully hosted the Inaugural Customer Experience Cross Industry Panel Discussion where we saw MoMo from MTN ZM, Airtel Zambia PLC Zamtel Money and cGrate Zambia Ltd cGrate Zambia sat on the same table talking about issues common to us all. In the room were key stakeholders from the Bank of Zambia, Zicta and CCPC, who gladly accepted our invitation and gave ear to our plight. The dream had come true! I am still in awe of what our team was able to achieve on this day. I replayed the discussion, a powerful candid conversation in the presence of those who needed to hear it. I am deeply humbled and grateful to have been a part of this, as the lead planner and director of programs. I am so grateful to my boss Claudie Muchindu for trusting our team with putting this together and for creating an enabling environment for our growth. You blow the wind that our wings ride on. Thank you. Thank you Diana Nthere for carrying such a meaningful conversation, the things we talk about at our desks came to a bigger table and you did so well. I am also very grateful for the Cross functional teams that supported us through out. Thank you MD Komba Malukutila for rallying before and ahead of us. If there's anything I've learnt from this process, it's that life is about good relations and from good relations flow great results.
It’s #FlashbackFriday! As we continue to celebrate our 60th year of Independence, and as Zambia’s Biggest Official Supporters, we were honoured to host the FAZ Awards a few months ago.
