This template displays an external link to the German National Library (DNB) portal via database entry IDs (German: Identifikationsnummer eines Titeldatensatzes aka IDN). Such external links include the Integrated Authority File (GND) about people (Personennamendatei), corporations (Gemeinsame Körperschaftsdatei) or keywords (Schlagwortnormdatei).

The template also accepts the German Wikipedia title of the template {{DNB-Portal}}.

Parameters

The first parameter should be the IDN:

Standard parameter:

IDN identifier - e.g., Integrated Authority File (Gemeinsame Normdatei, abbreviated GND)

Example:

• {{DNB portal|7749153-1}}

gives Template:DNB portal

Additional optional parameters are:

TYP - The default words are "Literature by and about". To change this the parameter "TYP" is used.

Examples:

• {{DNB portal|135358795|TYP=Sound carrier of}} (if there is only a sound carrier of the person)

gives Template:DNB portal

• {{DNB portal|135358795|TYP=Literature about}} (if there is only literature about but not by a person, or if the subject is not a person)

gives Template:DNB portal

NAME - the default setting is the page name.

Example:

• {{DNB portal|121503925|NAME=Peter Abrahams}}

gives Template:DNB portal (because the lemma is Peter Abrahams (American author))

TYP and NAME combined

Example:

• {{DNB portal|10336851-6|TYP=Sound carrier of|NAME=the Beginner}}

gives Template:DNB portal
