I spent my day today visiting our Grade 4-7 girls from Molo Mhlaba Schools at their three-day camp where they’re immersed in learning, fun, and growth! 🌿 These incredible young leaders are taking part in activities that build their leadership skills, tackling obstacle courses, and engaging in guided mindfulness exercises led by Bianca Browne of Mindfulness Practice. They also enjoyed a powerful session on confidence by Cebokazi from Mind Matters 💪 Upon arriving, I was immediately met with excited stories about the food! 😂 The buffet was a huge hit, and they couldn't stop raving about how much they ate! When I left, they were eagerly preparing for a swim—so excited that they didn’t even notice me sneaking out! 🏊♀️ It was wonderful to see them so engaged, running freely in nature, climbing trees, playing on the open grass—things every child should experience. This camp is truly a space for them to grow, learn, and simply be kids. Thank you to everyone who helped sponsor some of the girls to attend the camp. Our young innovators are exploring the T and E in STEAM! Our brilliant scholars took a huge step in their robotics journey by building their own robots! Once the robots were ready to roll, they dove into the world of coding using the LEGO Education software, connecting their creations to laptops and bringing them to life. We are thrilled to share that 2 weeks back, our Head of School, Sibulele Magini, was selected as one of only 35 teachers globally to be sponsored by the Swedish Institute to attend the prestigious 4-day Nobel Prize Teachers' Summit in Stockholm, Sweden. This incredible opportunity brought together leading education experts and Nobel Prize laureates to discuss the latest trends and innovations in education. Among the many insightful sessions, three key takeaways stood out: a seminar on adopting a wellness-centered approach to learning, a fascinating lecture on the science behind how learning works, and the invaluable chance to network and exchange best practices with teachers from around the world.
