LexisNexis South Africa attended and was the main sponsor at the Compliance Institute Southern Africa (CISA) Annual Conference 2024 - held at the Vodacom Dome in Midrand on the 28th and 29th of August 2024. CISA is the leading body for compliance professionals in Southern Africa, dedicated to promoting integrity, accountability, and effective compliance practices. The theme of this year’s conference was “IMPACT - Continue making a difference in compliance”. It focused on how compliance professionals have been shaping responsible business practices and ensuring organisations meet regulatory requirements. During the conference, our Head of Solution Sales, Claude de Villiers, spoke on the impact of global compliance trends on South African businesses. He covered topics like the increasing regulatory complexity, data protection laws like GDPR and POPIA, and the importance of stringent anti-corruption policies. He also discussed the growing need for transparency in supply chains, driven by international regulations. This topic is particularly important to us because we are committed to helping businesses understand complex regulatory environments and ensure compliance. In addressing these challenges, strategies were shared to help South African businesses stay compliant. We are proud to have contributed to these important discussions while continuing our commitment to advancing the rule of law. #LexisNexisZA #AdvancingAfricasRuleofLaw #ComplianceInstituteSouthernAfrica
