What a lovely morning spent teaching LOVE 4 DOGS at Matimba Lodge Day Care Centre with Daniela Kofler. ❤️ Many dogs suffer abuse due to fear, so teaching children from a young age how gentle dogs are is so important to improve and even save the lives of community dogs. It is also important to teach children not to approach a strange dog, never to run or throw stones. We teach them to stand tall like a tree and if the dog is barking and they are scared, to roll up like a rock! Needless to say, we had no trees or rocks today! Hope, the inspiration for HAART - Helping All Animals in Rural Towns was the perfect teacher, even turning away from a scared child so they could pet her back instead of facing her head on. All the children just loved puppy Franklin, who definitely got his fair share of cuddles. We’re pleased to share that we’ve donated £1,000 to HAART (Helping Animals and Rural Transformation). This contribution supports essential resources for the growing number of animals they rescue and rehabilitate. Under the leadership of Sam Keegan, HAART provides free essential and emergency veterinary care for over 900 dogs in rural African villages. These dogs receive critical care at the K9 Centre and, once recovered, are either returned to their owners or re-homed after being spayed or neutered. HAART’s impact goes beyond veterinary care. They engage local schools with education in Animal Care & Conservation, fostering a culture of love, respect, and appreciation for animals. When Dobby met Julie (after a year)... We really cannot put into words just how amazing it is and how grateful we are to have volunteer Julie McInnes back with us from Australia! These pictures were taken when Julie arrived, our gift to her and are super special. They show a love that lasts a lifetime and what an impact one person and one dog can have on each other's lives, and we couldn’t be happier for this moment, not a dry eye around. Julie joined us for over 2 months last year and made such a huge impact on HAART - Helping All Animals in Rural Towns saving dogs, changing so many of their lives with her training of them preparing them for adoption, as well as making a life changing impact on so many children, but this (then) little pup was at death’s door a year ago with severe malnourishment and life threatening tick bite fever. Julie saved Dobby, and thanks to the love and care given to her, she has grown into the most beautiful girl. Thankfully we found an amazing, loving home for Dobby and these pictures show the meeting of the two after a year apart! There is absolutely no doubt Dobby remembered and was just so grateful, and quickly demonstrated just how grateful she is for all Julie did for her. ❤️ The Secret Ingredient to Finding Fulfillment I've been volunteering with HAART - Helping All Animals in Rural Towns, and it has truly been a transformative experience. 🐾 Supporting HAART has not only allowed me to make a positive impact on the lives of animals in rural communities but has also given me a profound sense of fulfillment and purpose. Knowing that my efforts are helping to improve the well-being of these animals and the communities they belong to is incredibly rewarding. Volunteering has reminded me of the importance of compassion, empathy, and community support. What a Team for our SPAY & NEUTER DAY This Spay & Neuter Day we were so excited to welcome 4 newly qualified vets with Dr Khodi Mashila which meant even more lucky dogs could have their lives changed. It’s thanks to our amazing Partner Global 2by2 that we can sterilise 5 dogs each month, but this month we could sterilise 7 more dogs thanks to the wonderful Power of One - Animal Welfare in the UK who support small dog rescue projects around the world, we are so very grateful to be able to make an even bigger difference and change even more lives. Working together means we can make an even bigger difference to the lives of so many more dogs in need and we are truly so grateful to be working alongside two such incredibly supportive and passionate organisations that believe in what we do and want to make a difference Thank you to Dr Khodi Mashila and our 4 newly qualified vets who absolutely rocked the day With this amazing team, the only thing limiting the number of dogs we can sterilise is the funds to do them.
