  • 🚚 Driver Of the Year Celebration at Clover Clayville!🚚 The atmosphere at the Clayville Branch was charged with excitement as drivers, managers, and other employees gathered to honour the best drivers from all our branches. The event kicked off with a welcome message by our Divisional Manager for Secondary Distribution, James Rea, who highlighted the critical role that drivers play in Clover’s success. "Our drivers are the backbone of our operations. Their dedication ensures that our goods reach their destinations safely and on time. Today, we celebrate not just their driving skills, but their commitment to excellence," the manager stated. Selection for 𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 participation was based on yearly averages of Green Band driving as well as fuel efficiency, incident occurrences and customer service across all branches and satellites. On the day, various obstacles were presented to the drivers to put their skills to the test. The awards ceremony was the highlight of the day as the 𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 in the respective categories C1, EC and MHE were announced. Jacques van Heerden (Executive: Industrial) opened the awards ceremony by welcoming all participants as well as our leading partners Standard Bank South Africa Bank (main partner in commercial vehicles) and Goscor Group (main partner in MHE), who contributed to the success of the day. The handover of certificates and gifts to the drivers and participants was led by Antonio (Tony) Roderigues (General Manager: Distribution and Procurement). Tony highlighted that the Driver of the Year awards is more than just a ceremony and it is a testament to the Clover’s dedication to fostering a culture of excellence. By recognising and rewarding the hard work and achievements of the drivers, Clover reinforces the values of safety, punctuality, and customer service that are essential in the logistics industry. The success of this year’s 𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 awards at the Clayville facility sets a high standard for the future. It serves as an acknowledgment of the critical role drivers play in Clover’s success. As Clover continues to grow, initiatives like this remains vital in ensuring that safety, efficiency and excellence on the road is always celebrated and encouraged. #DOTYAwards #ExcellenceOnTheRoad #LogisticExcellence #ClayvilleBranchAwards #Clover #CelebratingDrivers

As we continue to celebrate the women in our organisation, we take you on an 85 km marathon journey with our Product Development Manager, Imogen Popich. Imogen has been in love with science for as long as she can remember. She found her dream job with us at Clover as a food scientist, specialising in Product Development. Being able to combine her interests with her skill set is what fuels her passion for what she does. Imogen is part of a team that creates new products from the ideation phase all the way to commercial production. One day she's dreaming up ideas, taste combinations, and innovations, and then a few months later, the products are made with love and available on the shelves for everyone to purchase and enjoy.  When Imogen isn’t in the lab blending beakers to make magic, you will find her tracking her progress as she trains for the Comrades Marathon. An experience like the Comrades has taught Imogen that many things that seem impossible can be achieved if you are willing to put in the work. It’s important to strike a healthy balance in all aspects of life. Imogen used to define success as achieving what others perceived as impressive or successful. However, through growth, this has changed over time. She now defines success as fulfilling her purpose in life. Her faith fuels her purpose to be the best version of herself every day. Want to know how to balance a career in science with a love for running? Or maybe you are curious about the process of creating our favourite Clover products. Ask Imogen your questions in the comments below, and let Imogen guide you to victory! Also, take this opportunity to acknowledge her achievements as she inspires the next generation of women in STEM. #WomenInSTEM #WomensMonthFeature #Clover #CloverWiseWomen

  • This Friday, we turn to the Procurement department, where we gain insight into Luzanne Harmse's career, what inspires her, and what she is most proud of in her professional journey. Luzanne's career with us began in 2019 when she started as an Assistant Accountant in Bloemfontein. Fast forward to today, she is now a Procurement Commodity Manager for Raw Materials. She describes her new role as a great challenge that has pushed her out of her comfort zone and allowed her to explore her capabilities in depth. Her responsibilities include sourcing and managing the raw materials that form the backbone of our products. Luzanne works closely with suppliers and internal teams, balancing cost efficiency with the need to meet our stringent quality standards. Luzanne draws inspiration from the women she has encountered on her journey. Their resilience inspires her the most. She also admires women who can juggle a career and a family. In her eyes, they are true superheroes. One achievement that Luzanne is most proud of in her professional journey is obtaining her SAIPA qualification. This achievement has opened many doors that she is grateful for. #WomensMonthFeature #Procurement #Clover #WomenEmpowerment

Julia’s journey as a dedicated professional and a devoted mother has been marked by continuous growth and learning. As a Regional Sales Manager, she oversees and manages sales teams across the region. In this role, Julia is responsible for driving sales performance, developing strategies to meet our goals, and ensuring that our teams are well-equipped and motivated to succeed. Julia has had the opportunity to mentor younger female employees who are just starting out in their careers. As we continue to celebrate the women in our organisation, today’s feature takes us to the Supply Chain department. We are giving you an inside view of Jacolien Steyn’s career, and you also get the opportunity to ask Jacolien for advice to hopefully follow in her footsteps, as a Customer Collaboration Manager.   Before we get down to business, Jacolien invites you to walk in her shoes, understand her career journey, and learn from her experiences as a woman in a leadership position. She can work under immense pressure while balancing her professional responsibilities and personal life to have a clear purpose.   Jacolien’s career with Clover began in 2013 when she started as a Commercial Trainee. After six months of being with us, she progressed to a Demand Planning role within the Supply Chain Department. This move slowly made her realise her passion for Supply Planning. Today, she is responsible for Customer Collaboration and Demand Planning teams to create value for Clover and our customers. Jacolien looks up to her late mentor who was a pillar of strength, she guided her and encouraged Jacolien to climb the corporate ladder. Her mentor taught her that it is not about being a woman – it is about doing what needs to be done. This means you need to do everything you can to the best of your ability. Working in a fast-paced environment makes one realise the need to find the perfect balance between their professional and personal life.   Jacolien describes her perfect balance between the two as being in the outdoors. Spending time with her family allows her to have a clear mind and start the week with a passion for life, this makes her a purpose-driven leader.   Her advice to you is always take the time to enjoy the little things now, this will make you appreciate the bigger things later in life.   If you would like to ask Jacolien a few questions on how she has progressed in her career or advice on what you need to do to move up the corporate ladder, now is your chance. Drop your questions in the comment section and let us hear what you have to say! #WomensMonth #BeInspired #CareerAdvice #SouthAfricanLeaders #Clover #AskForTips #CloverWiseWomen
