I was given one price over the phone, and charged a higher price in person. When I addressed the discrepancy I was gaslit.

Strongly discourage anyone from coming here for repairs. Came here for a simple fix to my gears and paid $35...only to have the "repair" cause more issues with my bike for months. Within a day of leaving the shop, I started having a completely new/separate issue that was clearly caused by the repair and I took it back in. The repair guy gave me major attitude about fixing it and wanted to charge me a second time for an issue that was clearly caused by their work. The bike worked OK for a few days and then for months I kept having the same issue intermittently (gears not switching properly, chain falling off, etc).

Took it in to another shop last week that charged less than half the price and fixed the gears for
Me. Even then it still wasn't 100% so I took it in for a second look. Turns out they discovered that a previous repair job (i.e. DTLA bikes, the only other shop I've ever taken it to) had loosened the screws that secure the chain to the bike and caused these issues to persist for months. Without even asking them to waive the repair fee, they fixed the it for free since I'd been in the week before (standard courtesy for the industry) and advised me to not take it back to where the issue originated.

Great customer service! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I went here to gear up for a big ride as well as get my bike fitted. Rodney gave patient and considered advice and made sure I was riding my bike properly to avoid injuries and move efficiently. I recommend!

I've been coming t this bike shop for 3 years now. When I first moved to DTLA I knew I needed a bike ASAP. I bought a DTLA Bike (their brand) from their bike shop the first month I moved. My girlfriend bought the same model a week later. We ride our bikes all around downtown and the arts district at least 3-4 times a week. I have never had any issues (besides 2-3 flat tires, from me over inflating) with their bikes. Plus this shop has an air compressor outside if you're in the neighborhood and need a quick fill. The customer service has always been solid. Thank you DTLA Bikes.

First time ever at DTLA bikes and my experience was awesome! I'm from out of town and wanted to rent a tandem bike and one with a child seat - and they were able to accommodate this (we looked at another spot that didn't do either). We went in the day before we needed the bikes so that we could get fitted for them and make sure we had what we needed. Daniel helped us gather everything we needed, and we also grabbed two helmets for the kids.

We don't remember the other employees names but they tried to help my son with his fear of being in the bike seat (was super nice). All the employees we had interaction with were super pleasant, really helpful, and the location is convenient and seemed to be centrally located. We got a half day rate, which was even better because we didn't need them for the whole day.

If you're in the area and need a bike from an awesome spot in LA, I'd recommend here!

This is the tandem bike we rented -

My bike was working perfectly fine until I came to this shop. It rode perfectly well and only needed a fluid bleed, but they called me saying my left lever was completely broken and leaking. Once I arrived to pick up my bike, I saw that they stretched and ripped the rubber cover of the lever and there was hydraulic fluid leaking out of the side screw hole. After asking if the mechanic, Manuel, tampered with the lever screw holes, he got upset and yelled at me, saying he "worked on bikes much more expensive" than mine with no problems.

There is no way I am coming back here, after being yelled at by asking what component broke and how it broke. Like I said, my Trek Domane SL4 2020 was working perfectly until I brought it here for some maintenance. And now I just have an unusable bike that needs to be fixed which will cost me hundreds.

      Great/Fast Work

I did encounter inconsistencies when gathering basic info, I spoke to 2 different people and heard 2 different answers.
But, besides that the end result was better than expected.
My bike looks good as new!
My tune up was needed bad for my bike and I was extremely satisfied when they returned my bike.

I've been a regular customer of DTLA Bikes for a few years now and they have always taken care of my most precious posessions: a spectacular Trek Emonda and a beautiful Parlee. Even though I didn't purchase my bikes here (though I would if I needed a third), the work they do keeping them riding smoothly is beyond my expectations. And I have very high expectations! The service staff works quickly and professionally and they keep me updated on repairs and timing. And the sales staff is helpful and completely not pushy. Bottom line: these guys are worth a trip to Downtown.
