DTLA Bikes

I was given one price over the phone, and charged a higher price in person. When I addressed the discrepancy I was gaslit.

Had a great experience buying a bike today. The store is big, bikes are well presented, most of them are name brands, and there is a small team of friendly people working in the back.

Rodney was really nice, knowledgeable, and patient with me. Listening to his advice and his experiences, you can tell he's extremely passionate about bikes and has been in the cycling business for a very long time.

I was able to test ride two sizes of a bike today in DTLA Bike's indoor track. I originally thought I was a large as most of my bikes are a large, but he told me that I should probably go with a medium with this particular bike. He was right.

I needed a few hours to think about my purchase before committing, and Rodney was never pushy, and he was very patient. That made the experience much easier and also more memorable. I knew I was going to buy the bike from somewhere, and the great customer service from DTLA Bikes made me buy it from them. This is a legit store you can trust.

I always make a pit stop at this bike shop when I am in DTLA, especially if I'm attending the cicLAvia event. The shop is big and there are many products and bicycles to choose from but I never find anything I need that I want to replace on my fixie. The employees are always there to help even when they are super busy during cicLAvia.

Somehow someway, there's always a ten minute wait at the register. Every cashier and every customer in front of me just talk talk talk but never keep the line moving. That being said as a warning (I guess you can never pay for a repair and go) the repairs they do are great out the door unlike other places where you gotta keep going back for the same repair, sometimes right out the door. There's a decent selection of seats, lights, handlebars. Haven't been here forever. I've gotten all of my apehangers here!

DTLA Bikes is legit! I brought my bike in and they were super fast and honest about the work that needed to be done on my electric bike. Within 10 minutes they IDd that my brake calipers were misaligned, aligned them, and I was out the door in a flash.

Would 10/10 go back to them whenever I need anything for electric bike.

Excellent service. Rodney hooked me up with a great bike to get me thru the 545 miles of the 2024 AIDS/Lifecycle ride. I also got a second bike, the RAMBAM, that Rodney designed just for the streets of LA. Stealthy and lightweight, and gorgeous matte black, it doesn't draw too much attention, which is just how I like it!

My bike tagged a flat less than a block from DTLA Bikes to say I was pissed and lucky, all in one sentence is an understatement. Bike shops rely heavily on word of mouth and servicing the community. I remembered that as I strolled in to have my bike fixed. The guys were nice and were busy servicing customers. Unfortunately I had another flat that day and went back to the store to have my tire fixed again - same great attitude, no extra charge and some advice for changing out my tire to protect the tubes.

DTLA and Rodney are awesome!

First time buying a bike and visiting the shop, I was greeted with a warm welcome.

When it came to selecting my bike it took some time since Rodney was probing in order to figure out my best ride.
Then came the selection which included and should have options.
At the end I walked away with the right gear and bike.

I'm from the neighborhood so it's great to have this amazing place to help me understand cycling.

Definitely returning with friends.

My husband I were in the market for new road bikes and knew we had to visit Rodney at DTLA bikes to check out the awesome selection. My husband has cycled for years but me, a beginner, looking to get a bike for fitness, had no idea what kind of bike would suit me. Rodney was very knowledgeable and showed us a couple of bikes and even let us ride a few in their basement track. They have tons of bikes and great gear. We left the shop so much happier from our experience. As local business owners ourselves we strongly believe that businesses such as DTLA bikes are the backbone of our community. Thanks, Rodney!
