I had lunch with my friend here and loved it! The service was great and the food was super tasty! I ordered the power bowl (rice and beans with avocado and kale). It was very satisfying! My friend had the black rice bowl and hers tasted really great as well. I would recommend this place to someone who is looking for something that is light on the stomach without lacking in flavor! The only thing was that a part of my dish was quite salty but it wasn't unbearable. Will come back soon.

It was good? in a strange way, but I wouldn't return. Also, the service was shaky at best. My friend and I split matcha pancakes and a dish consisting of eggs & beets. The latter was better, actually. The pancakes were good, but not my cup of tea.

I loved the concept and I was super excited for the food here, but I don't think I'd travel here again. Super cute, bright, trendy eatery, but the food was a bit lackluster.
The bf got the Breakfast Sandwich, which was admittedly very tasty - I loved the texture of the bread and the fluffiness of the eggs. Perfect breakfast sandwich, but it was pretty small and not filling at all. He thought it was just okay. I got the strawberry acai bowl, but it was hugely disappointing. The bowl tasted like it had been pulled from the freezer - definitely not freshly made - because there were chunks of ice in it. The "granola" (tiny seeds and nuts) were also frozen and extremely difficult to chew through. I had brain freeze after my first few bites; my teeth felt terrible and it was truly agonizing to eat it. The bf wanted me to just throw it out and get brunch somewhere else, but I didn't want to waste it, so I just mixed it vigorously and waited a bit until it warmed up a bit and became more palatable. It was pretty bland even at a more appropriate temperature. I definitely would not recommend getting it.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Davina C.Hong Kong28379764 Apr 2016
Seeing it on Instagram, the spot and its food looked beautiful, which basically meant that I went out of my way to pay this cute looking cafe a visit. I'm not one to write bad reviews - I want to give people the opportunity to try places for themselves as well, but I just gotta put this out because I did not enjoy my experience there at all.
First impressions were great - just like I saw in the pictures, place had colorful, bright tables and enough sunlight that made it look really cute! Then came the service.. the waiter was just downright rude, and gave the impression that he didn't care.. no smiles, nothing. Moving on, the food. I got the lavender acai bowl, and I would honestly rather go through the hassle to buy a blender and import acai berries myself than to have that again. It was so bland, the lavender didn't go well, and the tasteless cornflakes just made it worse. I mean... I got a nice photo, but I most definitely won't be coming back.Helpful 13Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 20 Aug 2016
We went for a weekday lunch. This is a great place for a light meal. We got the toast with fig and lavender on the top, granola & summer salad. Our fav is the toast! The lavender does add the great flavor into it. Highly recommend it!

I came here on a crowded Sunday morning and had to wait about 40 minutes. The place itself isn't too large so plan on there being a wait on the weekends. I did however appreciate the pink décor of the restaurant.
I ordered the Berry Acai Bowl for $9 and was slightly disappointed. Being a California native sets a high standard for any other acai bowls I try. This bowl was pretty small and not filling compared to the bowls I could get back at home. The acai had a liquid consistency, and I prefer a thicker acai blend. The seeds that were sprinkled on top also didn't particularly suit my taste and didn't complement the acai bowl in my opinion. For the steep price of $9, I did not think it was worth the price at all.
I might come back to try the salty egg options as they looked more filling and tasty then the disappointing acai bowl I did have.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisette C.Los Angeles, United States82120 Apr 2019
The best green chicken pozole!!!!!!! MUST HAVE!! The vibe is very Andy Warhol. Hits the spot! The staff is very cool. Hipster town for sure.

The place looks to be about the same size as my studio apartment and the tables are on top of each other. That's pretty standard of a place like this in this area. But it is an American brunch place right in China town! I was a bit confused myself.
My party of 3 waited about 25ish minutes for a table for three and I'm not sure the food was worth it completely.
Food: Strawberry Acai Yogurt - this was very watery and seemed very heavy on the granola. I've never had Strawberry Acai Yogurt before, so not sure if it's the normal consistency
BLT - the BLT was probably the best item we got but wasn't anything exceptional and was relatively small. The bacon was very crispy.
Breakfast sandwich - mediocre - I was very disappointed with this! It didn't have much flavor - I was really hoping the dimes hot sauce would be more tasty, but it really didn't add anything.
I think this is a good place to try, but not a place to be a regular at.
Service: The service was pretty good. They made sure to check on our table to make sure we had everything, but really that was the only good part of our mealHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alexander D.New York, United States079 Apr 2021
I got the salmon sandwich and the "Loving Love" cocktail. The sandwich was excellent and the cocktail was not bad. I would say both were a bit overpriced especially as the sandwich was rather small.

They kid not about this place being a hipster joint. I walked in on a random Tuesday afternoon & sure enough Dimes was bustlin' w/ liveliness. I was really craving a breakfast bowl & since I was in the neighborhood, I figured I might as well stop by since I've been meaning to since this restaurant opened.
No offense but the waitress didn't really seem to care. She had that chilled vibe, which I completely get - your mood totally matches the vibe of the place. But when I asked "what's a pitaya?", are you really going to respond "...you know... A pitaya?" Smack my head....
Regardless, I ordered a strawberry pitaya bowl. Simply delicious! Pitaya is basically dragonfruit. Perfectly sweetened and topped w/ strawberry & banana slices and granola bits. Uhm, yum?!?
I loved the bowl but not exactly sure if I'll be returning because of the service... Disappointed to say the least...Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
