Princess Anne has officially been discharged five days after her sudden hospitalization.
King Charles III's only sister was hospitalized on Sunday following a horse-related incident that left her with minor injuries and a concussion. She is expected to miss royal duties while recovering.
Princess Anne's health scare comes after the double blow the Royal Family suffered this year with King Charles and Kate Middleton's cancer diagnoses.
Princess Anne Secretly Leaves Hospital Following Her Release
According to new reports, the Princess Royal kept a low profile following her discharge from the hospital, secretly leaving the facility without being seen. She spent five nights at the Southmead Hospital in Bristol, receiving treatment for minor injuries and a concussion.
It is unclear how Princess Anne got injured; however, sources note it involved a horse-related incident. Her medical team reportedly believes the 73-year-old was struck by a horse's legs or head while strolling at her Gatcombe Park estate.
Her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, thanked medical professionals for their support in a statement shared by Sky News, saying:
"I would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the team at Southmead Hospital for their care, expertise, and kindness during my wife's short stay."
The Princess Royal Will Recuperate At Home
Although she has been released from the hospital, Princess Anne has not regained 100% of her health and will continue to recover at home. She is expected to follow standard concussion protocols, with her public duties on hold until doctors say otherwise.
When the incident occurred on Sunday evening, an air ambulance was scrambled to get the Princess Royal to the hospital. However, she reportedly reached the medical facility by road after receiving treatment at the scene.
The horse-related incident must have shocked Royal Family members, given the 73-year-old's status as a skilled horsewoman. Princess Anne was the first royal to compete at the Olympics in 1976 and holds the title of her brother, the King's right-hand woman.
Princess Anne's Absence From Royal Duties Triggered By Memory Loss
As recently reported by The Blast, Princess Anne was forced to cancel her royal duties after test results revealed memory loss due to her concussion. Fortunately, the condition was believed to be temporary, but doctors stressed the importance of rest.
"On doctors' advice, Her Royal Highness's engagements for the week ahead will be postponed," Anne's spokesperson revealed, adding:
"Her Royal Highness sends her apologies to any who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result."
The senior royal's canceled duties included a state visit and a trip to Canada, events King Charles' former royal butler, Grant Harrold, claimed would have broken the 73-year-old's heart, given her hardworking nature.

Although Anne might feel dispirited about canceling her royal duties, King Charles' former employee claimed this incident would make her "more determined to ensure it doesn't happen again." He added:
"I know she will want to recover quickly so she can get back to her royal duties."
The Princess Royal's husband echoed similar sentiments about her well-being on Monday when he was spotted visiting her hospital. He confirmed she was on the road to recovery, saying: "She's fine. Slow but sure."

Buckingham Palace was the first to announce Princess Anne's hospitalization through a statement released on Monday. However, they did not share what happened to the senior royal, only that she had been hurt in an unspecified incident.
The Palace confirmed she had "minor injuries and a concussion," noting the Princess Royal was admitted into the Southmead Hospital in Bristol. At the time, they claimed she remained at the medical facility "as a precautionary measure for observation."
The statement assured the public of her wellbeing, noting she was "expected to make a full and swift recovery." As for the Royal Family's reaction to her hospitalization, Buckingham Palace added:
"The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery."
