Meghan Markle reportedly feels anxious about the future as her life since quitting the royal family has been different from what she'd envisioned.

The Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, have embarked on several projects since relocating to the US but have been met with widespread criticism, and the pressure is now understood to be getting to Meghan.

Meghan Markle's relationship with Prince Harry is now allegedly under strain because of this issue, as surveys suggest Americans no longer find them interesting.

Harry and Meghan are allegedly growing apart because of the widespread disapproval from fans that has seemingly gotten to the former actress.

Since quitting their royal roles in 2020 to go live abroad, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have floated several ventures that didn't quite meet their expectations.

Royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror that Meghan is now facing a stark reality check and feels "under siege" because her experiences diverge from her expectations. This has also put her relationship with Harry on the spot.

"There is a growing rift between Harry and Meghan caused by Meghan's increasing concern that her life is not going in the direction she had planned," Quinn told the news outlet. "She loves media attention and hates that surveys suggest she and Harry are no longer of much interest to the American public."

"With news that the couple's Netflix contract may be under threat, along with the mockery that greeted the launch of her online brand, Meghan feels very much under siege," He continued.

Since she and her husband quit their royal roles, the former "Suits" actress has had to deal with tumultuous business terrain, widespread criticism, and harsh remarks from the public.

Unlike her and Harry's Spotify deal, which was canceled and faces uncertainty as to a possible renewal, Meghan's America Riviera Orchard brand was launched in March amid much fanfare. However, the buzz surrounding it has now died down, and Quinn thinks this also must have saddened her.

"The one fly in the ointment is Meghan's new internet brand, America Riviera Orchard. Meghan was in tears when the brand launched and her new jam was widely mocked for being expensive and nothing special," he shared.

Quinn claimed that she "cannot understand why people don't admire her work" and that she's now at her point "where she thinks that anything and everything she does will be unfairly criticized" as they feel "people are unfairly picking on her."

"She is especially sensitive about any criticism of her luxurious lifestyle in the US – from her point of view, this is something to be admired, not criticized," the royal expert added.

In a bid to resuscitate acceptance of her lifestyle brand, Meghan is understood to be looking for a royal endorsement from her father-in-law, King Charles III.

Since she launched the brand, her celebrity pals have flaunted images of her jam jars on social media, which has helped create some buzz around it. However, the excitement from fans has seemingly died, and Meghan is now looking to inject life back into it.

"Meghan is looking for support wherever she can get it," a source told OK! Magazine. "Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are at the top of her list, but she is shooting even higher and would love to get King Charles to give his stamp of approval."

"She wants Harry to reach out to anyone in the family that he's still got access to," the insider continued. "She still believes that there is a lot more support for them inside the royal family than people let on, and thinks it would be foolish not to ask for help."

The tipster added, "Despite all the drama, Meghan does not see why they should not be able to drum up some support and backing."

It comes as reports suggest Meghan "genuinely still feels hurt" by the rift with the royal family and is now looking to reconcile with them, although royal experts doubt this would happen due to broken trust.

An insider who spoke to Express shared that unlike Harry, who doesn't mind moving on, Meghan remains adamant about a sit-down with the royal family to sort things out.

"Harry is more willing to move on, let's just say that. It's not a case of Meghan being difficult, she genuinely feels hurt and would like some kind of sit down to hash things through - but that's not something the other side is willing to consider at this time," the source said.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked for King Charles, stated that "too much damage" has occurred for the relationship to return to what it once was.

"[Harry] caused damage and broke down trust," the butler told the New York Post. "It's difficult when you're a future monarch."

Harrold added: "I doubt they'll ever get back the relationship they had originally. That was a very different relationship built on trust. It's going to take time. William is a tough character. He's a good guy."
