Kevin Bacon Posts Shirtless Photo as He Rings in His Latest Birthday: 'This Is 66'

The actor's wife, actress Kyra Sedgwick, also celebrated to occasion by a posting throwback snap of them to her Instagram feed

Kevin Bacon is celebrating another year around the sun with a steamy post.

On Monday, July 8, the actor, 66, shared a shirtless photo of himself on Instagram to celebrate his latest birthday.

"This is 66," Bacon wrote in the caption, adding an emoji of a birthday cake.

The photo shows the actor giving a sultry look to the camera as he lies on a rock while wearing navy shorts and an unzipped black jacket. He is shirtless underneath the outer layer which leaves his toned physique on display.

Several of his famous friends shared celebratory messages on Bacon’s post. Comedian Amy Sedaris wrote, “🔥🔥🔥 Happy Birthday!! #cancerman,” in reference to his astrological sign and The Rookie actor Shawn Ashmore shared, “Happy birthday Kev!! Have a great one!!”

Actress Kyra Sedgwick — Bacon’s wife of over 35 years — rang in the special occasion with a post to her own Instagram feed.

She shared a slideshow of photos from over the years with the message: "If you were to ask me about bacon, I would say bacon is part of a balanced breakfast. But if you asked me on a deeper level, I would say, (Kevin) Bacon is the love of my life, my only one, happy birthday!"

The post ends with a throwback snap of the couple sitting in front of a wooden fence.

"Bacon’s #1 fan. Happy Birthday @kevinbacon," the Emmy winner wrote in the caption.

Bacon and Sedgwick met on the set of the 1988 PBS television film Lemon Sky and got married that same year. They share two children, Travis, 35, and Sosie, 32.

Bacon recently spoke with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview about his new slasher flick MaXXXine, in which he acts alongside Mia Goth. The movie is the third in Ti West’s X franchise, following X and Pearl.

The movie takes place in Los Angeles in 1985 — just one year after Bacon's had his breakthrough role in 1984's Footloose.

Taking a trip down memory lane, Bacon said, "It was a crazy time for me — you know, ‘84 is the last time I was invited to the Oscars. I was a presenter in 1984. I haven't been there since, you know; it was like a kind of a magical time for me. Magical, but also a little frightening when you feel your life changing so dramatically."
