PASADENA, Calif. (WSFA) - A musical Montgomery teen’s national television debut hit all the right notes Tuesday night when Reid Wilson got the coveted Golden Buzzer on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”

The celebrity panel enthusiastically advanced the young singer after he wowed them with his rendition of Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me.” It was Howie Mandel who ultimately gave him the buzzer.

Reid is only 14, but the performance was the culmination of years of practice. Reid says he’s been singing as long as he can remember but only recently starting sharing his talents with the world.

He’s not the only one in his family with musical talents. In fact, he’s not the first one to sing for a national television audience. His older brother is Ryley Tate Wilson, who made it to “The Voice” live semifinals last year. Throughout his run, the judges praised the teen’s talents, saying they were optimistic for his musical future.

The siblings remain supportive of each other’s talents. Reid says his big brother helped inspire him. And Ryley talked up his brother’s talents to WSFA 12 News in April, describing how Reid’s first Instagram song went viral and even caught the attention of some big names like Jennifer Hudson, Meghan Trainor and Kourtney Kardashian.

The two have a younger brother who also sings.
