Child care operations funding available in Maryland

MARYLAND – Funding is now available for childcare operations in Maryland.

The Maryland Department of Commerce is announcing its second year of support loans. The funding is provided through a partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education which will provide no-interest loans to child care providers.

They can upgrade their facilities, ensuring children have access to the best care possible. “One is just the quality of the facility, does it look attractive, is the carpet where it needs to be, etcetera, and then are there any upgrades needed? Toys for children or desks that need to be in place there,” said Andy Fish, with the Maryland Department of Commerce.

To see the specific ways in which the funding can be used visit the Maryland Department of Commerce website. The application for this grant money is open until December 15th.
