List of 2024 Memorial Day parades in Northeast Ohio

CLEVELAND — With Memorial Day upon us, 3News has created a list of parades taking place across Northeast Ohio as the community remembers those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

NOTE: The video at the top of this story features highlights from the Euclid parade.

Below is a list of events taking place throughout Memorial Day weekend. Entries in this list are parades unless otherwise noted.

AVON LAKE 

  • Monday, May 27
  • 10 a.m. 

The parade begins at Avon Lake High School and ends at Veterans Memorial Park.

BAY VILLAGE

  • Monday, May 27
  • 8:45 a.m.

The parade steps off from the Huntington Beach lot and will end with a ceremony at the gazebo in Cahoon Park.

BEDFORD 

  • Monday, May 27
  • 10:15 a.m.

The parade will start at Bedford City Hall and end at the Bedford Cemetery.

BEREA

  • Monday, May 27
  • 8 a.m.
    • Ceremony at Adams Street Cemetery 
  • 9 a.m. 
    • Service at Woodvale Cemetery
  • 10 a.m.
    • Parade

The parade will step off from Coe Lake and end at the Berea Triangle. A wreath laying and reading of names ceremony with take place at McKelvey Park immediately after the conclusion of the parade.

BRECKSVILLE 

  • Monday, May 27 
  • 9 a.m. 

The parade will begin at Brecksville City Hall. Refreshments will be served at the Fire Station following the ceremonies.

BROADVIEW HEIGHTS 

  • Monday, May 27
  • 11 a.m.

The parade will begin at the Crossings Shopping Center on West Royalton Road and continue along Broadview Road to the Community Amphitheater. The city says the best place to view the parade is alongside Broadview Road and Don Faulhaber Memorial Drive.

CHAGRIN FALLS

Blossom Time Parade 

  • Sunday, May 26
  • 2 p.m. 
  • Downtown Chagrin Falls

Memorial Day Service

  • Monday, May 27
  • 10:30 a.m.
  • Evergreen Cemetery

ELYRIA

  • Monday, May 27
  • 10 a.m. (Line up begins 8:15 a.m.; ceremony begins 9 a.m.)

The parade begins on Court Street and Broad Street and ends at Harrison Street and Glenwood Street.

EUCLID

  • Monday, May 27 
  • 8 a.m.
    • Graveside services at Euclid Cemetery then St. Pauls
  • 10 a.m. 
    • Parade

The parade runs from Lakeshore Boulevard down 222nd Street to City Hall.

FAIRVIEW PARK

  • Monday, May 27 
  • 8 a.m. 
    • Ceremony at City Hall
  • 9 a.m. 
    • Parade

The parade will begin at the Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home parking lot at 9 a.m. and conclude at the Fairview Park Cemetery. 

GARFIELD HEIGHTS

  • Saturday, May 25
  • 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

A Memorial Day event will take place; more details to come on the city's website

GREEN 

  • Monday, May 27
  • 10 a.m. 
  • Free pancake breakfast at Green High School from 7-10 a.m.

Beginning with a free Pancake Breakfast from 7-10 a.m., followed by the Memorial Day Parade which begins at Green High School, 1474 Boettler Rd. The festivities continue at 12 p.m. for the Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, followed by a Car Show and Picnic. Festivities conclude at 3 pm.

HUDSON 

  • Monday, May 27 
  • 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The parade steps off from Milford Drive/State Route 303, traveling east toward downtown, left on SR 91 north, ending at Markillie Cemetery. Immediately following the parade, there will be a Memorial Day ceremony at Markillie Cemetery.

INDEPENDENCE

  • Monday May, 27 
  • 9 a.m. 
    • Assemble on Public Square
  • 9:30 a.m. 
    • Service begins at the Veterans Monument on Public Square Procession to Maple Shade Cemetery and a graveside service will follow.
  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
    • Independence High School Marching Band Hot Dog Cookout at Discount Drug Mart.

LOUDONVILLE

  • Monday, May 27
  • 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The parade will start on Wally Road next to the Water Plant. The parade will pause for a ceremony and 21-gun salute at the Main Street Bridge and at the Memorial in Central Park before ending at Loudonville Cemetery.

MADISON

  • Monday, May 27
  • 11 a.m.

Parade steps off at South Elementary on Main Street in Madison Village followed by services in Madison Village Park.

MENTOR 

  • Monday, May 27  
  • 9:30 a.m. 

A solemn procession will step off from Memorial Middle School, followed by a Memorial Day ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. at Mentor Municipal Ceremony. 

From the City of Mentor: All participants are reminded that this is a solemn event held in honor of our nation’s war dead. Therefore candy distribution, political signs, shirts, buttons or other political paraphernalia, and commercial messages, are prohibited from the procession and ceremony.

NEW FRANKLIN 

  • Monday, May 27
  • 10 a.m. 

The New Franklin Memorial Day parade will begin at Grace Bible Church and end at Manchester Cemetery. A remembrance ceremony will take place following the parade, around 11 a.m.

NORTH RIDGEVILLE 

  • Monday, May 29 
  • 9:45 a.m. 

The parade will begin at the North Ridgeville High School and will travel down Bainbridge Road, finishing at the Veterans Memorial (across from the Senior Center), where a memorial service will be held. 

PAINESVILLE 

  • Monday, May 27
  • 10 a.m. 

The parade begins at Riverside Cemetery and will end at Evergreen Cemetery. 

PARMA HEIGHTS 

  • Monday, May 27 
  • 9:30 a.m.

A Memorial Day service will take place at the Parma-South Presbyterian Church, followed immediately by the parade. The route will run from the church to the Parma Heights Cemetery. Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs. 

SHAKER HEIGHTS

  • Monday, May 27 
  • 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

A ceremony will start in front of Shaker Heights City Hall, followed immediately by the parade. The parade will proceed east on Van Aken Boulevard, finishing at the Van Aken District. 

SEVEN HILLS

  • Monday, May 27 
  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

The Memorial Day parade will begin at St. Columbkille Church and School, travel south down Broadview Road to Hillside Road and end at Seven Hills City Hall. A Memorial Day ceremony will follow at City Hall. 

STRONGSVILLE

  • Monday, May 27
  • 11 a.m.

The parade will step off from St. Joseph Church on Pear Road and end with a ceremony at the Commons at the corner of Pearl Road and Royalton Road. The ceremony location replaces the usual location of the Freedom Trail gazebo, which is temporarily closed due to construction. 

Following the parade, the Historical Village located at 13305 Pearl Road will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS 

  • Monday, May 27
  • 11 a.m.

The parade will step off on Silsby Road, between Ashurst and Canterbury roads, ending at Gearity Professional Development School.

WADSWORTH

  • Monday, May 27
  • 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The parade will step off in front of the American Legion on Main Street and conclude with a brief ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery. Veterans and their families are invited to join the parade as it passes by.

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS 

  • Monday, May 27
  • 10 a.m.

The 1-mile parade route starts on Warrensville Center Road and ends at Old City Hall. 

WESTLAKE 

  • Monday, May 27 
  • 10 a.m.

The Westlake Kiwanis Club's Memorial Day parade will depart from St. Peter & George Coptic Orthodox Church, located on Hilliard Boulevard, and proceed to Clague Park. A memorial ceremony will follow the parade. 

WILLOUGHBY 

  • Monday, May 27 
  • Parade starts at 9:30 a.m.
  • Ceremony at Willoughby Memorial Gardens Cemetery starts at 11 a.m.

The parade will begin at Erie Street/Third Street to Euclid Avenue, turn on Park Avenu, then Murray Avenue and finish with a ceremony at the Sharpe Avenue Cemetery. A second ceremony will take at Willoughby Memorial Gardens Cemetery place at 11 a.m.
