This wikiHow teaches you how to add a new member to your Nintendo Switch Online family group. As long as any member of your Nintendo family group has a Switch Online Family Membership, all members of your family can use Switch Online. An admin will need to add new members through their Nintendo account page. Then, the new member can accept the invitation by clicking the "Join Family Group" link in the email they receive from Nintendo.
Steps
-
Log in to https://accounts.nintendo.com with an admin account. Only a family admin can add additional members to a group.[1]
- If the person you want to add doesn't have a Nintendo account, they will need to create one first. The only exception is if the person is a child—you can add a child to your Nintendo family group as long as you (as the admin) are 18 or older.
-
Click Nintendo Account. It's at the top-left corner of the page.[2]Advertisement
-
Click Family Group in the left panel. If you've already added members to the family group, they'll now appear in the right panel.
-
Click Add member. It's below the family list.
- If you are already a member of a family and you're not the admin, you will not see this option. Ask the family admin to add the new member instead.
-
Click Invite someone to your family group. It's the red button near the top of the page.
- If you're adding a family member who is younger than 13, click Create an account for a child instead, and follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your age. However, if you are younger than 18, you won't be able to add a child's account. You'll need to transfer admin rights to an adult who can add the child's account for you.
- To transfer your admin rights to an adult, click Manage Family Group, select Change Family Group Admin, verify your email, and then select a new admin. Click Confirm Change to save.[3]
-
Enter the email address of the person you want to add. This must be the email address associated with their Nintendo account.
-
Click the Submit button. This sends a verification email to the new member. Once the member accepts the invitation, they'll be added to your family.
-
Have the new member click the Join Family Group link in the email from Nintendo. The new family member has 24 hours to accept the invitation before it expires. Once they click the button, they'll confirm the action by logging in to their Nintendo account and clicking OK.
- If the new family member waits more than 24 hours to confirm, you can send them another invitation.
