Motivation
[edit]There are qualifiers female population (P1539) and male population (P1540) for population (P1082), but there are no equivalent qualifiers for mean age (P4442). The data for the qualifiers are available. Standazx (talk) 07:39, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- There are a lot of statistics that you could theoretically save for locations. If you want to save this data at yearly resolution it provides a lot of entries per item. I would prefer to use the tabular datatype for it. ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 18:14, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
- @User:ChristianKl: I believe there might be a lot of them, however will they be ever added to wikidata? Are the properties population (P1082), female population (P1539), male population (P1540), and mean age (P4442) going to be deleted and replaced by the tabular datatypes? If yes, is it possible to change the modules using those properties programatically to use the new tabular datatype? Or is it possible to use the tabular datatype as a qualifier to the property mean age (P4442), which is the intentention of this proposal - to add the qualifiers to the existing properties? - We have tabular population (P4179) as a way to state the population with tabular data.

- @ChristianKl - I am not familiar with this type, may I get any example of how tabular population (P4179) is used? And maybe a little sideway question - is the situation like the property population (P1082) can have qualifiers of male population (P1540) and female population (P1539), while property mean age (P4442) is for some reason not suitable to have gender based qualifiers?
