Motivation
[edit]Motivation: CHRE is a leading authority and online database for reliable, scholarship-backed information related to the archaeological discovery of coin hoards from the Roman period. CHRE assigns stable URIs for coin hoards and these reference identifiers should be connected to already existing records for coin hoards in Wikidata. Ahc84 (talk) 14:35, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Notified participants of WikiProject Authority control, Notified participants of WikiProject IDEA, Notified participants of WikiProject Ancient Rome, @Epìdosis, Jahl de Vautban, Alessandro Marchetti (WMIT): Notified participants of WikiProject Antiquity
- SupportCHRE is an established authority, and it will be useful to be able to connect CHRE numbers as identifiers in wikidataKBCphd (talk) 16:21, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
- Support The coins in the hoards are broken down by type, example 1 above including 16x coin/312059; however, the same coin types don't seem to be linked across different hoards (this search picks up this coin), so the formatter URL (added above) should probably be chre.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/hoard/$1, not chre.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/$1 / the property split with chre.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/coin/$1. There is also reference/1586 (Roman Republican Coinage (Q41454992)), I'm assuming we don't want chre.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/reference/$1, Maculosae tegmine lyncis (talk) 09:15, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
