A repetiteur is authorized to teach and rehearse choreography in the absence of the choreographer. He or she may be invited to teach or rehearse a work at another dance company on behalf or in place of the choreographer, if the choreographer is not available or is no longer alive. A repetiteur is different than a rehearsal director in that he or she is considered an expert on the work of the choreographer. (English)
