Fire on North Royal Street brings traffic to a halt

JACKSON, Tenn. — Around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, we received a tip regarding a large first responder presence on North Royal Street in east Jackson. When we arrived on scene the street was blocked off from East Forest Avenue to Martha Street.

Fire officials on scene told us the fire began in the rear of the duplex-style home.

It eventually spread to the attic before fireman were able to extinguish the blaze.

According officials, no one was injured aside from a resident that received minor smoke inhalation and was treated on scene.
